During Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event, fans were treated to a new trailer for the interactive thriller, Twelve Minutes. The trailer served to introduce fans to the game’s all-star cast that features some huge names, as well as confirm a new console the game is coming to.
Twelve Minutes is about a man who is stuck in a time loop and mixes elements of different movies like The Shining and Memento to create an interactive thriller. The game got its first bit of hype after the game showed off a confusing but intriguing trailer during Xbox’s conference at E3 in 2019. At that show, Twelve Minutes won the award for Best Indie Game from the Game Critics Awards. However, since the game’s big public showcase, the project has been rather quiet with a few updates here and there.

In a new trailer for Twelve Minutes, it was revealed who would be providing the voice-overs for the game’s characters. The star-studded cast features James McAvoy (Dark Phoenix, IT: Chapter 2) playing “the man” and Daisy Ridley who is most popularly known for her role as Rey from the Star Wars sequel trilogy who is playing “the woman.” Joining these two is the four-time Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man, The Lighthouse) who will be playing the role of “the intruder.”
The end of the trailer also gives fans an update on the game’s next-generation release as it is now confirmed that Twelve Minutes will be coming to the Xbox Series X. The game is still scheduled for the Xbox One and PC as well. Unfortunately, this new trailer didn’t offer fans an update on the game’s release date other than the words “coming soon,” but the Steam page for Twelve Minutes is still listing the game to be available in 2020.
Along with this exciting update for 12 Minutes, Gamescom Opening Night Live brought tons of updates and other reveals to bring an end to a long summer of video game shows. Twelve Minutes also wasn’t the only game to appear at Opening Night Light that featured a character played by Daisy Ridley. Fans got their first look at gameplay from Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga which is due out this year. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will let players play through each movie in the Star Wars series, including The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker movies for the first time.
Twelve Minutes is scheduled to release in 2020 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
