How Splitgate’s Ranking System Works

Quick Links

Splitgate is out now in beta on PC and consoles, and it has made quite the splash in its latest iteration. Gameplay has been refined and the guns feel great to shoot – especially when you baffle your opponent with a quick portal swap. But baffling foes becomes much more complex when you have to do it against people that know what they're doing.

When you gain access to Splitgate's Ranked mode, things change quite drastically. The modes you have access to are limited, and the rulesets differ ever so slightly. If you want to get to the top of the competitive ranks, then you'll need this guide. Here we're going to break down everything you need to know about Splitgate's Ranked modes and maps, in addition to how the ranking systems works and how many points you need to be a top-rank player.

Splitgate's Ranked Modes And Maps

Currently Splitgate's Ranked system allows you to play on any of the available maps – the big difference is in the quality of opponents you'll be going up against. These matches will be 4v4, and you'll only be playing three games modes:

  • King of the Hill
  • Domination
  • Team Deathmatch

These are pretty standard competitive game modes, and make for a good way to play Splitgate with ranks on the line. Now all you need to know is how many points you need to enter a truly great league.

Splitgate's Ranks And The Points You Need

Splitgate's Ranked system works similarly to many others. Performance in a match will either reward you with points, or take them away. If you want to get into the highest ranks in the game, you need to consistently win against opponents that are, theoretically, on your skill level. While it hasn't been disclosed exactly how Splitgate calculates your points as you rank up, it'll become clear soon with either update in the future, or players analysing their results.

These are the ranks you can achieve in Splitgate, and the point range you need to be in to get there.

Rank Points Required
Bronze 0-1,499
Silver 1,500-1,999
Gold 2,000-2,499
Platinum 2,500-2,999
Diamond 3,000-3,999
Master 3,500-3,999
Champion 4,000+

Getting to Champion rank will be a long road, but with enough smart portal use and excellent shots, you can make it there. Luckily the fact that the game modes are fairly predictable makes it easy to practice these simple modes and start to outpace your opponents.
