Cowboy Bebop, the space sci-fi western based on the popular anime, will arrive on Netflix with 10 confirmed episodes on November 19.
Netflix has released the first photos from their version of Cowboy Bebop, the Western special inspired by the legendary anime that defined an entire generation.
The pics show how the actors will seem and how the unique flair of the original production has been adapted to the streaming platform’s most anticipated live-action series, which is just around the corner.
A great adaptation of the anime?
Set in a future in which mankind colonized the moons and planets around the solar system after Earth became inhospitable, the series chronicles the exploits of Spike, Jet, and Faye, three bounty hunters aboard the spacecraft Bebop who catch the system’s most dangerous criminals for a fee.
André Nemec, famed for writings such as Mission Impossible and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Jeff Pinkner, screenwriter known for The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro and The Fifth Wave, came up with the concept for the live-action adaptation.
The chapters will be directed by Alex Garca López, who has previously worked on Daredevil, The Punisher, and The Witcher, and Michael Katleman, who has directed Primeval and The Last Ship. All work done by this incredible team will be overseen by none other than Shinichirō Watanabe, director of the classic Cowboy Bebop film.
Furthermore, it has been confirmed that Yoko Kanno, the original animation composer, will return to contribute musical direction and compositions. The Cowboy Bebop anime lasted 26 episodes. However, the Netflix version will only include 10 episodes, which will arrive in November.
