The first in-game event is now live in Halo Infinite‘s free to play multiplayer, with Fracture: Tenrai giving all players a free 30 level battle pass to work through and samurai-inspired Yoroi armour to earn. There will also be a Fracture: Tenrai – Fiesta limited time playlist to play.
The Fracture: Tenrai Event Pass will be available for one week from Tuesday, November 23 at 6Pm GMT until Monday, November 30 at 6PM GMT.
The Fracture events will be recurring ones, giving you multiple opportunities over the coming weeks and months to log more progression and unlock more. This is the event’s first occurrence with the next of the six total appearances through Season 1 set to take place in January 2022. The challenges you receive to complete will have you dive into the Fiesta playlist, a chaotic twist on the game with a “spawn with random weapons” Arena.
It seems that there will be a new Fracture event for each season of Halo Infinite, each one opening a thematic rift into another Halo universe to explore different visual and stylistic ideas. It’s something that harkens back to Halo 3 and the ninja-inspired Hayabusa armour that long-term players could unlock. This is 343 Industries’ way of introducing armour variants that step out of the bounds of traditional Halo, it seems.
It’s not just about the Yoroi armour core, though. You will also be able to earn the following:
- Torii Reflection – Epic Backdrop
- Gatekeeper – Legendary Shoulder Pads
- Rare Samurai Nameplate & Emblems
- Sol Devil – Legendary Weapon Coating (MA40 AR)
- Whispered Sky – Epic Weapon Coating (Sidekick and BR75 Battle Rifle)
- Spring Blossom Filter – Legendary Helmet Attachment
- Swordsman’s Belt – Legendary Utility for Yoroi Armor Core
Halo Infinite’s free-to-play multiplayer was released as a pleasant surprise for the 20th anniversary of the Xbox consoles and Halo franchise. While Halo Infinite’s gameplay has been largely met with praise, a few elements have frustrated players. There’s a few gameplay tweaks that cut against the series’ history (such as melee from flag and ball carriers not dealing one hit kills), but the biggest issue people found was with the slow rate of Battle Pass progression thanks to the gameplay challenges needed in order to progress.

343 Industries were quick to react, reducing some of the demands of the challenges, but keeping the overarching system in place. That’s not quite fixed the issue in many people’s opinions, but it’s a welcome salve while the game is still technically in a beta phase. The game will officially be released alongside the campaign, coming out on 8th December for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
