Abby Can Kill Tommy In The Last Of Us Part 2

A YouTuber has discovered that Abby can kill Tommy during the sniper rifle chase scene in the Last of Us Part 2.

YouTuber Speclizer posted a video titled “Tiny Mistakes in The Last of Us Part 2”, which showcases some of the glitches and inaccuracies in the game.

The first of these mistakes is arguably the most interesting and shows Abby during the third day of her half of the campaign. During this part of the game, Abby finds herself on a highway with Manny, before being shot at by a sniper in the distance.

It’s revealed in the same section that the sniper is actually Tommy, and the player then has to avoid his sniper and catch up to him by taking cover and running in between shots.

As it turns out, players can actually catch up to Tommy during the last section of the chase in the marina. Usually, the player will try and get close to Tommy, only for him to pull down a shutter and set up the next setpiece section.

However, Speclizer shows that if the player is fast enough and catches up to Tommy when he pulls the shutter down, Abby can slide under and interact with Tommy as if he was a normal human enemy; including being able to kill him.

Tommy can take an incredible amount of damage if confronted like this, which shows that he was never intended to be caught, and in the off chance that a player does shoot and hit him, he'd be able to react to it.

More than anything else, it’s pretty impressive that Tommy was completely modelled in the game and can be dealt with like that, considering the whole sniper rifle scene is more of a setpiece moment.

This raises the question of whether other characters can be caught up to and killed like a regular enemy, such as the chase with Nora during the second day of Ellie’s adventure.
