After The Fall releasing December for VR platforms

After The Fall will be released on December 9th, Vertigo Games has confirmed. The first person VR shooter will be available on PSVR, PC VR platforms, and Oculus Quest 2. Oculus Quest owners will have to wait until 2022, with a delay for that plaform being confirmed earlier this year. After The Fall has had a few delays as it was originally expected in 2020, and then this summer. December 9th is locked and loaded.

For those playing on PSVR, you’ll be able to play with dual PlayStation Move controllers or the Aim controller. The intention is to make you feel like an 80s action hero with weapons like a cassette player turned missile launcher. The game is set in an alternate timeline of the 1980s where Los Angeles has suffered a collapse with ice taking over the once sunny land of the Californian city. The point of the game is to survive either solo or in up to four player co-op in a world where everyone is fighting for survival and control of the ruins. Players will be able to craft weapons including guns and melee ones which can be used to fight the hordes that survive icy LA as well as the bosses that dominate the land. Players will also have access to certain powers that can be wielded in fights.

Vertigo Games previously released Arizona Sunshine, and in our review for that, Jim wrote: “If you’re serious about PlayStation VR and love first person shooters, Arizona Sunshine is a no-brainer. Mowing down mobs of the undead is immensely satisfying with a great spread of weapons and plenty of opportunities to have some fun. The campaign is well-paced, supplying small but welcome diversions to break up the action with little morsels of story here and there. At £33, some players will naturally want more bang for their buck, but the quality of content on offer here is fantastic. With the bar set even higher than before, it will be interesting to watch how developers try to emulate and improve upon Arizona Sunshine.”
