Alfred Hitchcock: Vertigo revealed at Guerrilla Collective Showcase

Alfred Hitchcock: Vertigo

Microids has revealed its new narrative game Alfred Hitchcock: Vertigo. The mysterious teaser debuted at Guerrilla Collective Showcase.

Alfred Hitchcock: Vertigo, developed by Pendulo Studios (Runaway, Yesterday Origins, Blacksad: Under the Skin), immerses you in a new type of psychological thriller that walks the fine line between reality and fantasy.

“Of course, Alfred Hitchcock’s movie was a major inspiration source, whether it’s about the game’s themes, its narration, or even the visual techniques we used that clearly mirror Hitchcock’s recurrent cinematographic techniques,” explains Josué Monchan, Narrative Designer at Pendulo Studios.

Vertigo is not our only frame of reference. For instance, the fact that therapy is at the core of the narrative echoes Spellbound, and some characters resemble protagonists from Rebecca, Psycho, and many more,” Monchan adds.

The Story

Ed Miller is a writer who escapes a car crash in Brody Canyon, California, unscathed. Despite the fact that no one was found inside the wreckage, Ed insists he was traveling with his wife and daughter. As a result of this traumatic event, he develops severe vertigo. As he begins treatment, he hopes to learn more about what happened on that fateful day. More of this thrilling story can be found in Alfred Hitchcock: Vertigo.

Game features

Despite the fact that it was introduced with a mysterious video, this new game from Pendulo Studios offers characteristics that we see in narrative-driven adventure games.

Players investigate via the eyes of three distinct characters. Each has a different narrative to tell, and you may visit numerous timelines to cross-check the events and distinguish between fact and misleading recollections.

Alfred Hitchcock: Vertigo will launch at the end of the year on PC via Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
