AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series is a new generation of desktop processors based on the Socket AM5 platform. It offers cutting-edge connectivity features, including up to 24 PCIe 5.0 lanes, making it one of the company’s most expansive platforms to date. The Socket AM5 platform is also compatible with DDR5 memory and is scheduled to be supported by AMD through 2025.

The AMD Ryzen 7000 series is expected to outperform the Intel Core i9-12900K. The AMD Ryzen 7000 series also brings with it price cuts. The flagship Ryzen 9 7950X CPU will be priced at $699 USD, while the cheaper Ryzen 7 700X will cost $399 USD. The price of the Ryzen 7 7700X will be roughly half the price of its predecessor, the Ryzen 5 800X.

The Ryzen 7 7700X is an eight-core, 16-thread processor with a base frequency of 4.5GHz. Its boost frequency is around 5GHz. The TDP is 105W. Its cache tops 40MB, which is eight more than the older Ryzen 7 5800X.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7900X is priced at $549 USD. The CPU features 12 cores and 24 threads and boost up to 5.6 GHz.

AMD’s Ryzen 9 7950X is a powerful new CPU based on the new Zen 4 architecture. It is the best Zen 4 processor yet, and AMD has clocked it up to 5.7GHz for single-threaded performance. The new chip has a TSMC 5nm manufacturing process, which makes it possible to achieve high clockspeeds. The base clockspeed is 4.5GHz, and the turbo clockspeed is 5.7GHz. The clockspeeds are faster than what AMD showcased at Computex.

The Ryzen 7950X has a higher boost clock speed of 5.7 GHz, and the TDP is pushed to 170W. AMD claims that single-threaded performance has increased by a significant margin. The processor is also capable of better performance-per-watt than previous-generation AMD CPUs.

AMD’s new Ryzen 7000 desktop CPUs will launch on September 27th, coincident with Intel’s 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs.
