A banned streamer has compared her ‘topless’ streams to Amouranth’s hot tub trend as a way to get rich quick, but she’s not being entirely honest.

Recently, some streamers have found a new way to get attention on Twitch by appearing to be topless and using deceptive camera angles, but most consequently got banned for pushing suggestive sexual content rules too far.

One of those who recently got banned isn’t too happy, saying she was actually fully clothed, and has hit out at Amouranth for also poking holes in the streaming site’s policy and getting rich off it with her hot tub streams.

Amouranth fired back that pioneering the hot tub trend didn’t make her wealthy, making $600,000 (£470,000) a month on OnlyFans did.

The recently banned streamer, Morgpie, defended her and other’s ‘topless’ streams after her ban, saying that they’re only taking a page out of Amouranth’s book, when she popularised the hot tub trend years ago.

‘People have been trying to find ways to poke holes in the Terms of Service for a decade on Twitch. You know, that’s why Amouranth is as wealthy as she is. People see that and they see the success that can be made from doing things like what Amouranth did with the hot tub streams,’ she told Dexerto.

However, according to Amouranth herself, that’s not how she made her money.

‘Saving the a majority of the windfall, investing it, and grinding relentlessly for 12 hours a day for 6+ years consecutively is why I’m wealthy,’ she said on Twitter.

Amouranth also says that she made $600,000 (£470,000) a month on OnlyFans before she started the hot tub trend, and that her total monthly income is around $750,000 (£587,000). So, according to her, she only makes £117,000 a month from Twitch.

Although Morgpie was initially banned for her antics she no longer seems to be, as, surprisingly, Twitch has changed is policy on sexual content this week, to the point where it now allows stripteases and twerking.

As usual though, the rules are not well explained and this is certain not to be the last time someone is banned for sexual content or pretending to be topless on Twitch.

relentlessly for 12 hours a day for 6+ years consecutively is why I’m wealthy,

The other girl who-must-not be named bent and broke TOS way more than I did, and made a fraction of what I made.

Attention=money in the attention/creators
