Animated Pokemon Fusion Combines Slowpoke and Torterra

Pokemon Torterra Slowpoke

The creativity of the Pokemon community continues. Thanks to the games, anime, trading cards, apparel, and more, the reach of Pokemon cannot be understated. And thus its fans tend to think outside the box with artistic ideas. The most recent example shows a fan morphing together the Pokemon Slowpoke and Torterra, and the results are both comical and endearing.

There have been countless examples of fans of the pocket monster-collecting RPG coming together to share their creativity. In the case of this fusion, an artist animated a combination of a fan-favorite old-school Pokemon from Generation 1 and one of the more beloved Generation 4 creatures that soon will be collected in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Slowpoke and Torterra are totally different Pokemon in nature, fighting styles, and types, but they come together very nicely.

Reddit user KattenGamerKG uploaded their work to r/Pokemon recently for fans to enjoy. The fusion of Slowpoke and Torterra is a sight to see. Torterra resembles a tortoise in the games, but also has a small tree, grass, and rocks living on its shell. In the case of this morph of the two Pokemon, the body is basically Slowpoke, but the shell and all of its unique characteristics are from Torterra. However, the formations on the shell are different, including the fact that there appears to be a well and a ladder on the back with a smaller Slowpoke, along with a possible acorn tree.

Torterra is a Grass and Ground Pokemon, while Slowpoke is Water and Psychic. In the case of this fusion, the Slowpoke is based on its Generation 2 design and not the Galarian Slowpoke from Pokemon Sword and Shield that has made its way to Pokemon GO. Torterra is the last evolution of Turtwig, one of the starters from Generation 4. Torterra may soon see a spike in popularity again with the release of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

This is not the first time that fans have combined Pokemon together as an animation, and it certainly will not be the last. In fact, Torterra has even been at the heart of other mash-ups in the past. A Beedrill Torterra fusion was shared a few months back as well that was equally creative.

Video game fans often come together around artistry. Recently a fan shared multiple working Pokemon fishing lures, including some of Feebas and Gyarados, for example. Pokemon is a nice backdrop for creativity, as there are so many Pokemon to choose from and the world is brimming with options.
