Apex Legends’ Latest Character Is Seer

0

The latest Legend coming in Apex Legends Season 10 is none other than Seer. A mysterious figure, Seer is said to be a cursed man whose eyes can "reduce a mountain to dust, a king to a beggar, and an ocean to a desert."

That's from the new Stories from the Outlands trailer that just dropped a few moments ago. Created in collaboration with award-winning illustrator, animator, and director Robert Valley (who you might remember from Netflix's Love, Death & Robots episode "Ice"), the story of Seer is one of terrible catastrophe following this blue-eyed boy wherever he goes, starting from the very moment of his birth.

Seer's main symbol is that of the moth. In keeping with his "cursed" theme, the moth is drawn to a flame where it meets its end, and so anyone who meets Seer's gaze is said to be drawn to their last moments. It also ties into the preview teasers from last week which told the tale of "The Moth and the Flame," as well as the in-game teaser where you can find a few more tidbits about Seer.

In fact, the glowing crystal enclosure on Seer's chest is the exact same item you can find on Olympus in-game right now. If you manage to activate the crystal without getting shot, you'll be treated to your character providing a brief voice line about Seer along with a constellation of blue lights forming the image of a moth. You'll also get a gun-charm that's shaped in the image of Seer's moth drone.

We don't know exactly what Seer can do quite yet, but Respawn's Season 10 teaser page makes it clear that Seer will use nano drones to spot "opportunities that other Legends might miss." Whatever that means.

That same teaser page also reveals that World's Edge is getting an update, a new weapon is on its way, and so too are Ranked Arenas.

Season 10 "Emergence" arrives on August 3. Stay tuned at EA Play Live on Thursday for the Emergence Launch Trailer.
