An Argos website glitch has resulted in a number of customers purchasing the Nintendo Switch Lite for free from the UK based retailer. The glitch was shared on a number of reseller forums, resulting in quite a few purchases. Some of them even claimed that they will be selling their free Switch for a profit.
As noted by VGC, the glitch involved adding a particular carry case along with the Switch Lite to the website’s cart. This would unintendedly initiate a discount which would cover the entire amount, except for the £3.95 delivery charge. The retailer quickly removed both items from the website upon realising what was happening. The Switch Lite seems to be back among the listings, so the glitch may have been fixed.

It seems that the console shortage is going to stretch into the next year, as the semiconductor shortage shows no signs of ending. Toshiba was the latest major company to make a statement about the shortage. “The supply of chips will remain very tight until at least September next year,” said Takeshi Kamebuchi, a Toshiba director tasked with semiconductor production. “In some cases, we may find some customers not being fully served until 2023.”
However, if you did manage to get your hands on a Switch, your Nintendo Switch Online subscription may allow you to soon play Game Boy titles along with the SNES and NES ones. Sources close to Nintendo Life have claimed that the new collection will be added to NSO's library very soon.
Additionally, Nintendo has announced that it will not be at Tokyo Game Show 2021. "Nintendo will not exhibit booths or game titles at the Tokyo Game Show 2021 Online to be held from September 30, 2021," the game maker wrote on Twitter. "We will only cooperate in exhibiting indie games from other companies." The expo will feature some of Japan’s biggest video game developers like Sega, Square Enix, Konami, Capcom, SNK, Level 5, and Atlus among others.
Over the past few years, a rising number of companies have decided to hold their own events rather than tie up with expos like TGS and E3.
