Atomic Heart Will Offer Two Different Endings With An "Important Moral Choice"

Atomic Heart Combat In First Person

Despite Atomic Heart being a pretty straightforward FPS, there will be two different endings available to players based on their in-game decisions. Mundfish wants to “put an important moral choice” in the hands of the players for the community to argue and discuss the finale.

Moscow-based developer answered the most popular questions about Atomic Heart on the official Discord channel, Wccftech reported. Unfortunately, the devs aren’t ready to announce the exact release date yet, insisting the game is now in the polishing phase and all the content is already there. Not much of an update since we’ve last heard of the project back in May. The developer believes it’s better to keep such information under closed doors so as not to affect the mood of the crew in case of sudden delay.

In terms of the gameplay features, there will be no loading screens in Atomic Heart, which seems to become the new standard these days. Additionally, the shooter will have multiple endings with an important moral choice closer to the game’s finale. Mundfish confirmed the overall story will be pretty much linear and the players shouldn’t expect many RPG elements beyond this one big decision. Two endings were implemented primarily for the community to discuss the story and its themes long after they finish Atomic Heart.

Another interesting detail is that the title will feature real-life historical persons, only envisioned through fictional alternate history. The team did not reveal specifics, only hinting that the events don’t correspond to real history after the year 1936 in Atomic Heart’s twisted setting.

Speaking of the long-term plans for support, the team says DLC will only be considered after the full launch. During the development, some features had to be removed from Atomic Heart for various reasons and still can come out later if the game proves to be successful.

Atomic Heart has been in active development since 2018, and hopefully, will be in our hands soon enough. The title is coming to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5, and will be available via Game Pass. Mundfish said it wants everyone to be able to enjoy the game, therefore the devs are definitely not abandoning the last-gen platforms.
