Thanks to a user on resetera, it has been spotted that the Avatar game that had just been revealed at Ubisoft Forward this E3 had actually been planned at another studio rather than coming straight from Ubisoft. In the autobiography of the Ubisoft Massive creative director David Polfeldt, it was revealed that another studio was planning to be given the opportunity to create an Avatar game. The studio head of this team had other plans as he sabotaged the entire process, even offering the people who went over to find developers for the title some cocaine, as the workers and employees were clearly broken down and in distress.

This didn’t sit well with them, despite it being a massive deal compared to anything else they had done, so they decided to leave behind the studio and look elsewhere. While the team members’ trip was largely confusing and interesting, they were able to find a home for the game in the hands of Ubisoft, who now is in the process of developing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. It still hasn’t been confirmed which studio in Europe was referenced within the article. Ubisoft’s next title will see a release in 2022 on the PS5, Xbox Series, PC, Stadia and Luna platforms, bringing the world of Pandora to life.
