Batman: Arkham City Player Spots Easily Missable Detail In Two Face’s Courthouse

Batman: Arkham City was the most critically praised entry in the series, and for good reason. One of the biggest things that the game got right was its open world, as Batman: Arkham City was packed with intricate details.

Recently, the Batman: Arkham series has come back into focus, as many gamers seem to be returning to the franchise. There could be several reasons for this, ranging from hype for the upcoming DCEU film The Batman to an attempt to kill some time until the next DC game is released. Regardless, players have been noticing a lot of things that they missed out on in these recent replays, with one of the latest discoveries coming from Reddit user EquivalentExtra.

This Batman: Arkham detail is hardly brand-new, as many players in the comments had spotted it in their own playthroughs. However, just as many seem to have missed it, which is a shame given how much it adds to the scene. When players venture to Two Face’s courthouse during the game’s story, they will find plenty of enemies to take down. However, if they stop to look at the courthouse beforehand, they will find that the entirety of the building’s interior has been remodeled to resemble Two Face’s split personalities.

One side of the courthouse is clean and proper, with the remaining part of Harvey Dent’s sanity represented in the left side of the image. However, while the floor and walls on the left half of the building are clean, the right side of the courthouse is completely burnt – just like Dent’s face. Not only is an acid pool visible, but the glass window is blackened with soot and the statue’s weight is on fire. The wooden floorboards are also exposed, making for a setting that beautifully reflects the complex personality of the Batman villain. The wire between the two sides of the building only makes the design clearer.

While some commenters are shocked that so many missed this detail, as it would normally be strange to have one half of a building preserved and another side ruined, several commenters explained why it is so easily missable. For starters, those that play their Batman aggressively will likely rush into battle, focusing on Two Face’s thugs as opposed to looking at their surroundings. Likewise, those worried about Catwoman will likely try to rescue her quickly. In the case of Redditor Flashgio, who played the game 10 times but missed the detail, they simply never realized the even split with the courthouse’s damage.

For those that have not played the games in a while, discoveries like this are a good reminder of why a replay of the Batman: Arkham series may be worth it. With the games holding up well, players could return to them to see things that they may have missed.

The Batman: Arkham series is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
