Battlefield 2042 does not allow you to turn off bots and you cannot play offline with bots either

Battlefield 2042 is the latest game to come from the massive studio known as EA, and after two previous instalments set within the eras of the World Wars, we are finally returning to a (somewhat) modern-day setting. The studio has recently revealed that the multiplayer-focused title will incorporate AI and bots into the multiplayer matches and will hold some degree of intelligence as to what to do in the massive battles the franchise has become famous for. According to a report from VG247, the bots players will encounter cannot be specialists and will serve a role more akin to those of grunts rather than active players.

Games don’t often use bots, with previous entries in the Battlefield series along with their fellow shooter franchise Call of Duty largely avoiding the usage of them until now. EA has continued on, explaining that once more real players enter the match, they will replace the aforementioned bots. Unfortunately, for those who are against these bots, there is no option to disable their presence, and neither can one play with them offline. With the player count on the last generation of consoles being 64, along with the current generation’s maximum player count going double that at 128, this new entry into the series will have the largest battles seen in the games. Battlefield 2042 will ditch the single-player campaign for the first time in a while, going in a direction similar to Call of Duty’s 2018 critically and commercially successful entry, Black Ops 4, which also left behind the campaign to focus on its own multiplayer and zombies modes, in addition to introducing battle royale. Battlefield 2042 will release on October 22, 2021, on both the current and last generation of Xbox and PlayStation consoles as well as on PC platforms and will feature crossplay between the multiple platforms.
