Battlefield 6 Might Drop PS4 and Xbox One Versions – Rumour

battlefield 5

There has been no shortage of Battlefield 6 leaks and rumours these past few weeks and months, and of the many, many potential details on the shooter that have emerged, the one that surprised no one was that it would be releasing as a cross-gen game. Allegedly, the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game were being handled by a separate, dedicated team within DICE- but it seems that that might not end up happening after all.

Known insider Tom Henderson, who’s been on the forefront of most major Battlefield 6 leaks, recently took to Twitter and said that there’s been no concrete information on whether the upcoming shooter will release on past-gen consoles- which might, according to him, indicate that those plans might have been dropped.

It’s been recently rumoured that Battlefield 6 might launch for Xbox Game Pass on day 1, and according to Henderson, if that does happen, it’ll probably be as a result of the game being exclusive to next-gen consoles- so that it can boost its player count right off the bat.

Of course, all of this is unverified information right now, so take this with a grain of salt. That said, the next Battlefield game is said to be getting a reveal in May, so it’s likely that we’ll know more not long from now.

In other news, I still have yet to hear anything concrete that #BATTLEFIELD will come to past gen consoles. Theory – It indicates to me that it probably won't and the biggest reason #BATTLEFIELD will come to the Xbox Game Pass on day 1 is to boost up player numbers.
