Just in time for the festive season it BBC iPlayer has launched on PS5. The app is only available to those in UK.
“From today, PS5 owners can add the BBC iPlayer app by going to the Media tab on the PS5 home screen and selecting BBC iPlayer from the All Apps section. This will add BBC iPlayer to the apps library and make it available to use direct from the PlayStation home screen,” say the BBC.
There’s a huge amount of content available from the BBC so what should you watch? Well, here are some recommendations:
Showtrial: A rich socialite who is extremely unlikeable – and a part time sex worker for added spice – is accused of murder. The show challenges our perception of people, just because the accused is a bratty little madam do we automatically assume she committed murder?
Doctor Who Flux: Let’s face it, previous seasons of Doctor Who have been a bit crap and centered around companions rather than epic space adventures. The current season was cut down from nine episodes to six, cos Covid, which means they have had more money per episode and it really shows. Just for once, Doctor Who looks it has a budget and the mysterious story is rather good too.
The Mating Game: Do you want to see animals having rumpy pumpy? Then Sir David Attenborough has got just the program for you, and it’s in 4K if you watch on PS5!
Apocalypse Now: Final Cut: BBC iPlayer also has films on it, they don’t stay on the service for very long but there are some good ones on there including Apocalypse Now, voted one of the greatest films ever made and based Joseph Conrad’s literary classic The Heart of Darkness. Top fact: The game Spec Ops: The Line was also based on the same book.
Gamesmaster: Lols, Jk. It’s on All 4 not iPlayer and it’s beyond cringe. Avoid at all costs.
