Bloodborne was released in 2015 and became successful. Developed by FromSoftware, the creators of the Dark Souls series, the game offered players an action RPG full of challenging boss fights. Even though the Souls-like game was released over 6 years ago, Bloodborne fans continue to create incredible artwork based on the game’s world. Recently, one fan of the game decided to create a painting based on one of the game’s memorable locations.
In a Reddit post, an artist known as bMashtu revealed a painting of Cainhurst Castle from Bloodborne. The image showcases a solemn scene of an isolated castle with sharp spires rising above snowy rocks. Using a cool color palette to portray the bleakness of the castle grounds, the artist primarily used shades of black occasionally intermingling with the blue and white accents of the surrounding lake.

One of the highlights of the painting is the moon positioned behind the structure. The main light source present in the picture, the moon has a spiral design suggesting that the image is moving and what lies within the castle is unsettled. The artist noted that they wanted to make a more “organic” painting, commenting that they wished to stay away from the use of straight lines in the work.

The Bloodborne community on Reddit has been loving this new piece of artwork from bMashtu. With over 2,200 upvotes, the consensus from the community is that the painting recontextualizes the memorable area from the game. Some fans commented on the duality of the image, saying that the castle made them feel uneasy while at the same time giving off a feeling of peacefulness.
Cainhurst Castle is one of the more iconic locations in the game. While the region can be difficult to access for some players, those that manage to take the carriage ride to the castle grounds are treated with some impressive visuals. In addition to spectacular architecture, the area presents a number of enemies to defeat. Bloodborne is known for its exciting boss fights, and the Cainhurst Castle offers players another battle to attempt. Taking place on the rooftop of the castle, the player must take down the Martyr Logarius.
While some continue to create art based on the original Bloodborne, other anxious fans are waiting for news about the possible release of Bloodborne 2. There have been plenty of rumors regarding a potential sequel, such as Velvet Veil. Furthermore, some are suspicious that a PS5 remake along with a port of the game to PC could be in the works. However, while all these bits of speculation excite fans, nothing concrete has been revealed by the developers at this point.
