Bravely Default 2 Releases On Steam With A 10% Discount

Bravely Default, the 3DS JRPG that proved classic JRPGs are still alive and well, has finally received its second sequel after six years of waiting. Bravely Default 2 has an all-new setting, cast, and plot, with the same jobs system and Brave & Default combat system which made the first two games so unique.

First released on the Switch back in February, Bravely Default 2 went on to sell a million copies before Square Enix announced the game's impending arrival on PC via Steam. And now that it's here, you can pick the game up for 10% off the regular price.

Besides the discount, Bravely Default 2 received two upgrades over the Switch version. It now supports multiple resolutions so you can dial up the graphics to be far sharper than on the Switch, and it has support for various other controllers than the Switch's Pro Controller. Other than that, it's the same Bravely Default 2 you'll find on Nintendo's handheld.

Which is hardly a bad thing. Bravely Default 2 tells an all-new story of four new Warriors of Light as they journey to reassemble the crystals of the four elements to lock away an ancient evil. Having been chosen by the crystals as their champions, Seth, Gloria, Adelle, and Elvis fight monsters, soldiers, and powerful Asterisks Breakers in their quest to save the world.

Bravely Default 2 uses the same Brave & Default point system from the original game which determines how many actions a character can take in a single turn. Jobs are also back but greatly expanded over the first title. Defeating an Asterisks Breaker unlocks new jobs which you can mix and match to discover new powers.

There's no telling how long Bravely Default 2's 10% off sale will last, so best get to buying while you can. Square Enix isn't known for having sales all that often.

As for fans who've already played the game on Switch, a Bravely Default 3 sounds like it's in the works, but it might take a while to get here. Bravely Default series producer Tomoya Asano recently told Famitsu that fans will have to be patient as "development will take another 3-4 years" at least on a third sequel.
