It has been an exciting time for Call of Duty: Warzone players recently, with both the connected title Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and the battle royale unveiling plans for the game's next season. Within the upcoming patch to bring Warzone to its 5th Season, it looks like a whole new type of activity is getting prepared to drop into Verdansk for players to compete over.
Announced alongside the rest of the upcoming content that will soon make its way to Call of Duty: Warzone on the game's official blog, developer Raven Software has given a glimpse at what players can expect with this new activity. However, it seems that there is another new feature coming to Verdansk that is being kept slightly more undercover until the launch of Season 5 gets a little bit closer.

This new activity is called a Mobile Broadcast Station, and they act as a signal boost for players, granting them benefits for competing in and around the immediate area that they appear. Specifically, the stations will act as a beacon to call in players for the chance of increased rewards, in exchange for more players gathering on these locations and the threat of the strange broadcast each one emits. Adding to the "mobile" part of their name, these stations will be placed across Warzone's Verdansk map in different set locations on a match-to-match basis in order to keep any one area from becoming a consistent hotspot.
According to the reveal of this new point of interest for Warzone, players can also expect another type of mission objective to appear in Verdansk during Season 5. However, the information on this second new point of interest has been "redacted" from the reveal, leaving players to guess what kind of new missions or obstacle might be arriving with the Mobile Broadcast Stations. Considering the messaging related to this mystery addition, players should be on the lookout for anything strange in or around these new points of interest that might be the trigger for another type of unlockable.
These types of points of interest for a battle royale map can be huge for speeding up the pace of a match, since they have a tendency to draw players in. When it comes time for Warzone's Season 5 to finally drop, players will have to start looking at the increased risk and reward that comes with exploring these areas that could draw in a lot of players. While on one hand, it might be safer to stay away, whoever comes out on top in the Mobile Broadcast Stations could walk away with an advantage lasting the rest of the match.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
