Call of Duty: Warzone Players Want Voice Announcer Packs Added

Call of Duty: Warzone is increasingly becoming known for its customization options. Since its release, fans have been enjoying the innovations to the Call of Duty formula that come with every new season and update. But now, it seems that those same fans are asking for a little more in order to spice up their favorite franchise.

Players love customization, as it makes any gaming experience more personal. Call of Duty: Warzone has mostly delivered on this front, allowing players to give their operators and weapons a personal touch via various cosmetics or attachments. Some players, however, are asking for more than cosmetic customizations. They want unique voice announcer packs.

Reddit user ElectroLuminescence made the suggestion by using the classic Modern Warfare Delta Force announcer from Modern Warfare 3 over some Warzone gameplay footage and fans immediately responded with their ideas. Players wasted no time in suggesting who they think would best fill the role of announcer. Some suggested iconic voices of the past, while others voiced their support for celebrity appearances.

One of the top comments suggests the ever popular rapper Snoop Dogg, with the author of the comment suggesting they would be “100% down” with the rapper’s voice being featured in the game. Another user suggested a fellow West Coast rapper and actor in the form of Ice Cube before ElectroLuminescence followed up with a suggestion of Samuel L. Jackson.

While it does not offer much in the way of enhancing Call of Duty's newest game mode directly, customization goes a long way. Many games throughout the years have seen great success with allowing players to choose their announcer. It is just one more thing to allow players to cater their experience to themselves. But not everyone in the thread was so keen on the idea of having more voices in Call of Duty.

One player raised concerns that with so many unique operators with different voice lines, adding even more dialogue would make the experience less enjoyable. Other commenters were quick to point out that they believe Warzone’s audio needs major improvements before adding more to the mix. Some players even went on to suggest that the developers should focus their attention on Warzone's rampant cheating issues before adding anything else. Despite these criticisms, though, most players in the thread seemed receptive to the idea and were quick to throw out their own suggestions for voice packs.

Activision has an opportunity on its hands to give players something they are asking for. Clearly, judging from the sample size of the Reddit thread, many fans of the series are receptive to voice packs and would welcome their inclusion. With Warzone’s massive sphere of influence, there is no doubt that the series would attract some interesting voices to contribute to the action. After all, the series is no stranger to voice packs, as the aforementioned Snoop Dogg has already done voice work for the series in the past. Other celebrities have contributed as well, such as internet comedian Ozzy Man and late actor/veteran R. Lee Ermey.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
