Cancelled Power Rangers Game Was "Gotham Knights 5 Years Before Gotham Knights"

An ex-Saban employee has shown concept art from a cancelled triple-A Power Rangers game called "Project Nomad".

As pointed out by scarletwiccan on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, writer Jason Bischoff detailed the cancelled game on his Twitter. Jason worked at Saban in 2016 when this game was trying to get off the ground, but all that remains of it now is concept art.

Jason detailed his experience working on the game, with this being the first time the project has been publicly mentioned. He said, "As a video game ex-pat (then at Saban), I had hoped to BusDev an ambitious, open-world co-op that captured the energy, teamwork, and history of the franchise through a fresh lens. Basically, 'Arkham' Rangers… or Gotham Knights 5yrs before GK's announcement."

Jason continued, detailing why the game was never made, "Sadly, with so much circulating through the studio at the time, there was no bandwidth or budget to support. What I did have, however, was an invaluable 'blessing' to independently explore… and explore I did! Calling on old friends, we built the pitch we wanted to see. While these looks were never intended to be final, I think it's safe to say we were onto something compelling! While early talks with Devs/Publishers was favourable, ultimately time + big shifts in our business saw conversations around Project Nomad peter out."

Finally, Jason detailed the main synopsis for the game, saying that it would feature, "Eltar, under occupation, being freed by a myriad of Rangers from across the cosmos". Although that's all we have on Project Nomad, Jason promised that there is more to share from the cancelled project.

Amongst the pieces of concept art that Jason shared, we can see various different iterations of Power Rangers, including some that look like the original crew and one set labelled "Alien Rangers. We can also see a few designs for Alpha 4, as well as the appearance of a dinosaur Zord in the final piece of artwork.
