Centipede: Recharged Announced for PC, Consoles, and Atari VCS

Publisher Atari and developers Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox have announced Centipede: Recharged for PC, consoles, and the Atari VCS.

Centipede: Recharged is coming to Windows PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Atari VCS on September 29, for $29.99.

The game is a premium, paid reimagining of the arcade classic title and supports up to 4K resolution and 120 frames per second on both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, as well as 240hz support on PC. If you get the game on the recently released Atari VCS, you’ll get exclusive challenges and support for the new Atari Wireless Classic Joystick.

The original bug-blasting arcade game is back! Centipede: Recharged has been reimagined for modern gameplay, with vibrant visuals designed for modern screens, a 16:9 field of play, and an original soundtrack from award-winning video game composer Megan McDuffee.

Aim for a high score in the old school arcade mode and earn bragging rights with your name at the top of the leaderboard. Or test your skills and rank on the boards in one of 30 intensely creative challenges, which twist the gameplay in new and exciting ways.

A dozen new power-ups can give you an edge by introducing abilities like screen-clearing explosions, rail guns, and even slowing down time. Every mode and level is playable in local co-op mode with a friend.
