Charlie Cox Claims Those Aren’t His Forearms In No Way Home

Marvel fans think Matt Murdock made an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home's trailer, but Charlie Cox has some bad news on that front.

After what felt like an almost eternal wait, Marvel and Sony finally gave fans a first look at Spider-Man: No Way Home last week. Judging by what was shown off in the movie's first trailer, you can see why everyone involved was reluctant to show fans anything too early. Confirmation that Doc Ock and Green Goblin will return, as well as hints at Electro and Sandman.

Eagle-eyed fans who will have watched the trailer numerous times by this point think they also spotted another cameo. One from Netflix's forgotten corner of the Marvel universe. Charlie Cox, the man who played Matt Murdock and Daredevil for three seasons in the show of the same name.

Tom Holland is shown out of his Spidey suit and sat in what appears to be an interrogation room. A person, who appears to be Peter Parker's lawyer, places their arms on the desk in front of him. Even though you only see their arms, because the sleeves are rolled up many have assumed they're the arms of Cox. Murdock is a lawyer. No Way Home is bringing back characters from older Marvel properties. In fairness, it does add up.

That is until you ask Cox himself. ComicBook.com interviewed the Daredevil actor ahead of his new show Kin, squeezing in a question about these mysterious forearms. Bad news Daredevil fans, as Cox said, “I can promise you those are not my forearms.” On the bright side, that might be confirmation that those arms don't belong to The Devil of Hell's Kitchen, but it doesn't mean Cox won't be in No Way Home at all.

This isn't the first time Cox has shot down rumors claiming he will have a role to play in the next Spider-Man movie. When asked about it previously, Cox said that if Daredevil is going to be a part of No Way Home, he isn't the one playing the iconic Marvel hero. Between confirmed returns and rumored ones, the MCU movie is going to be quite the spectacle. All going well, No Way Home will hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
