Coca-Cola And State Farm "Reassessing" Activision Blizzard Partnerships

Activision Blizzard's partnerships with Coca-Cola and State Farm are in jeopardy, as the two companies are "reassessing" their involvement with the studio, according to a new report. The news follows the state of California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing lawsuit against Activision Blizzard, alleging harassment and discrimination in the workplace.

Specifically, both Coca-Cola and State Farm are contemplating dropping their sponsorship for the Overwatch League.

Both companies have released brief public statements about their sponsorship deals, with Coca-Cola mentioning it is "aware of the allegations surrounding Activision Blizzard" and is keeping a close eye on its development.

As for State Farm, the company is currently "re-evaluating our limited marketing relationship with the Overwatch League." For now, however, it's demanding that "no advertisements run during the matches this weekend."

The Washington Post report mentions that both Coca-Cola and State Farm ran advertisements during Overwatch League earlier this week.

Activision Blizzard spoke to the lawsuit at its latest earnings call, laying out five ways in which it is seeking to foster a safer work environment. Its first step was the removal of J. Allen Brack, with the other steps ensuring managers who impeded harassment investigations are fired, the removal of inappropriate in-game content, and ensuring a diverse workforce is developed moving forward.
