Cookie Clicker Is Beating Phasmophobia, Warframe, And Rainbow Six Siege In Concurrent Players On Steam

Cookie Clicker originally launched back in 2013, and it seems the game is back with a vengeance. Though Cookie Clicker has been around for a while, it only just launched on Steam September 1, and it’s already taking the platform by storm, currently ranking 12 on Steam’s top concurrent players list at the time of this writing.

But perhaps the most shocking part of all is that Cookie Clicker is beating out games like Phasmophobia, Warframe, Rainbow Six Siege, and Rocket League, games that have seen massive success and popularity. Even Final Fantasy 14 currently only has a little over 1,000 more concurrent players than Cookie Clicker, sitting only one slot above on the concurrent player list.

It’s not too shocking that a game would be high on the most concurrent players list after going up on Steam so recently, but it’s a bit surprising with this particular game. Cookie Clicker is an idle game, meaning that the player does not need to actively be playing at all times to make progress, and the gameplay consists mostly of clicking and waiting.

One notable aspect of Cookie Clicker though is that it has been actively developed since it came out in 2013. At this point, the game has over 600 updates and over 500 achievements. You can unlock perma-upgrades and play minigames. Cookie Clicker also includes Cloud saving so that you won’t be accidentally deleting your cookies by accident.
