We could be weeks away from the premiere of Cowboy Bebop, Netflix's live-action remake of the anime classic. The show is set to start sometime this fall and feature new music from the original composer, Yoko Kanno.
It'll also feature a diverse cast including Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, Wendee Lee as Faye Valentine, and Ein played by a corgi that we still don't know the name of.
But the star of the show was always Spike Spiegel, who'll be played by John Cho. The Star Trek and Harold and Kumar actor looks perfect as Spike in the latest images posted on the brand new Cowboy Bebop Twitter account, which Netflix seems to have created specifically to hype the show.
First, we have Spike in his classic headphones, followed up by a totally ripped Cho practicing his kung fu on a wooden dummy. Next we see Spike walking down a church with a gun that has clearly been used very recently, judging by the dead body next to him. And finally, the iconic Bebop living room, complete with the horrifyingly ugly yellow sofa.

Netflix didn’t just stop at Spike, though. The whole gang's here, including Jet Black and Faye Valentine, with Ein on a leash. Jet and Faye are likely to be more secondary characters, given the fact that they only received a single photo each.
One very notable absence is Edward Wong, the young hacker prodigy found on Earth alongside Ein. At least, that’s who she was in the original anime. We haven’t seen Ed at all in the promo material that Netflix has released, which is leading some to worry that Ed might not be in the live-action remake at all.
It’s possible Ed is just a more tertiary character than the main three we see in the photos, but Ed is still a beloved character that should get at least a little screen time ahead of the premiere.
Well, at least we got to see Ein. Cowboy Bebop arrives on Netflix later this fall.
