Cowboy Bebop’s Netflix Adaption Getting Comic And Novel Companion Series

Whatever happens, happens. Netflix’s new live action adaption of the popular science fiction neo-noir anime – Cowboy Bebop – is also getting a comic and a novel companion series.

When it was announced in 2017, that Netflix was creating a live action series based on the critically acclaimed and commercially successful anime series – Cowboy Bebop – fans were not sure what to expect. Now, the live action series has been set to be released Friday, November 19, 2021 and – by the looks of some recently released photos – the Netflix series will closely follow the original anime.

But, it now looks like the Netflix series isn’t the only thing that fans can look forward to. A novel – written by Sean Cummings, a staff writer for the series – will be released in November, as well as a comic will also be released in November, as a companion series to the new show. Cowboy Bebop: A Syndicate Story: Red Planet Requiem will be a prequel and will show a young Spike Spiegel – criminal turned bounty hunter. The book will more than likely give some more insight into his feud with Vicious.

Fans can also look forward to a comic written by Dan Watters – of DC acclaim – that will follow the bebop crew as they chase a gang member fitted with a vest of luck. There will also be book titled Cowboy Bebop: Making the Netflix Series that will feature art and behind the scenes photographs.

Cowboy Bebop isn’t the only anime making headlines lately. A game based on one of the most successful manga and anime series in the last few years – Demon Slayer – is set to be released in Japan Thursday, October 14, 2021 and globally by Sega Friday, October 15, 2021. The upcoming 3D fighting gam called Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles upset fans will now add playable demons after launch, presumably due to outcry from fans.
