Fortunately, we've got seven beginner's tips and tricks that you need to know in Craftopia, whether you are just pressing play for the first time or you've already done a bit of exploring. This guide will cover everything that you need to know to get started in Craftopia.

Get Some Gear

At the start of your Craftopia adventure, you won't have a single item to call your own. Well, other than some underwear that your character always wears.

That means you need to think about gear. Specifically, you need a weapon and some armor to protect you from the many enemies you'll find in Craftopia.

We recommend getting a basic iron sword and some light armor before the first night. When the sun goes down, skeletons will spawn around your island and make exploration a lot harder.

Use our guide on how to get leather to help you get some light armor quickly.

Gain Some Experience

After making some equipment, you need to start levelling up. As you level up in Craftopia, you will unlock new useful skills.

Some skills offer passive bonuses, such as mana and health recovery. However, there are also combat and magic abilities that you can learn to grow stronger and beat powerful enemies.

On the starting island, you should focus on killing animals, chopping trees, and mining ores and stone to earn exp.

Killing animals grants you the most exp, so we'd recommend doing a lot of hunting. When you reach level 15, you should be ready to enter a dungeon and start fighting bosses.

Dive Into Dungeons

When you have some gear and a few useful skills under your belt, it's time to dive into one of Craftopia's dungeons.

Dungeons usually consist of a few connected chambers, each filled with enemies and loot. When you reach the end, there will be a boss that you can fight to potentially earn some rare items.

Get Farming

You don't need to sleep or drink in Craftopia, but you definitely need to eat. As time passes, your character will slowly starve and take damage until you are left with one measly health point.

One of the best ways to provide a constant source of food is farming. As you explore different islands and dungeons, you will get seeds that you can plant.

Over time, these will grow into crops that you can harvest and use in various cooking recipes at the cooking pot.

You can also make wheat fields, which will provide wheat each time you water them. You can learn more about wheat farming in our guide, which also covers how to get wheat flour and turn it into bioethanol.

Make A Market

To progress further in Craftopia, you will need to start earning some money. You might have noticed that everything you craft has a value in gold.

To actually sell your items and start making a profit, you need to craft a market. These can be made at the workbench using logs and stone.

When you have the market, you can deposit any items you wish to sell by interacting with it.

Every five minutes, it will collect any items that you've deposited and place any coins that you've earned directly into your inventory.

Enter A New Age

One of the first structures you should build in Craftopia is the Altar Of Civilization. This is a large tower that you can interact with to progress into the next age.

As you progress through ages in Craftopia, you will unlock lots of new crafting recipes. Many of these are essential if you want to travel to new islands and explore faster.

You will even unlock some vehicles that you can build, such as the Buggy and the Helicopter. You will need batteries to make these, which we have covered in our guide on taming animals and getting batteries.

Teleport To New Islands

That's a lot to do on your first island, but eventually, you will tire of seeing the same scenery. When you're ready for a change, head to the Altar Of Transportation and select a new island to explore.

There is an altar that you can find hidden on the starting island, but, if you are struggling to see it, you can also make one at the workbench.

The new islands that you find will have different resources available, but there is a cost to get there. To unlock a new island, you need to donate certain materials to the Altar.

The further you want to travel, the rarer the materials you will need to gather before you can teleport.
