Cyberpunk 2077 Clip Shows Ridiculous Swimming Animation After 1.3 Update

With the latest 1.3 update for Cyberpunk 2077, it seems like the game is really starting to take shape and is another step closer to the experience CD Projekt Red promised before its release. Along with the good of the 1.3 update, one fan noticed a ridiculous swimming animation that has seemingly been accidentally added to the game with the patch.

Posted to the subreddit r/CyberpunkGame, Reddit user u/MayusYT showed off their Cyberpunk 2077 footage of V swimming in some crystal-clear water. The problem with the footage begins when they look at V’s shadow as their head disappears and reappears at random and they seem to have grown an extra pair of arms extending out of their body.

The additional arms are pretty crazy looking and are connected at the hands with V’s regular shadow making for a monstrous addition to the game. While the swimming animations themselves have definitely improved from the base game by CD Projekt Red, it’s clear that there’s still some work to be done on V’s shadow.

Swimming animations have only improved since patch 1.3 from

As one commenter on the original Reddit post pointed out, the additional arms resemble the Mantis Blades that were featured prominently in Cyberpunk 2077's marketing and available for purchase in-game through the various ripper-docs. Unfortunately, it seems like V’s additional arms here are a bug and not a feature of the game.

As more and more patches and major updates have been pushed for Cyberpunk, there have definitely been fewer glitch showcases posted to the likes of sites like Reddit, YouTube, and Twitter. That said, MayusYT’s footage serves as a bittersweet reminder of the many issues that plagued the game at launch. Although they were often hilarious, it’s nice to see the progress that CD Projekt Red has made on Cyberpunk 2077 over the last few months.

In addition to fixing plenty of bugs and glitches, Cyberpunk 2077’s 1.3 update also serves as the first bit of free DLC that’s going to continue coming to the game. The DLC is pretty small considering how massive the world of Cyberpunk is but features a handful of new cosmetic items including outfits for Johnny Silverhand and a new vehicle.

There’s been plenty of speculation regarding what Cyberpunk 2077’s first narrative DLC will be like, but it seems like fans will still need to keep waiting for any sort of update on when to expect that. Hopefully, there will be more news on it before the end of the year as CD Projekt promised.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions currently in development.
