Cyberpunk 2077 Hotfix 1.06 Removes the 8 MB Save File Size Limit on PC

Cyberpunk 2077_08

Cyberpunk 2077 is going to need some major patchwork before it’s brought up to an acceptable standard of quality, especially on consoles, and CD Projekt RED have released the latest in what’s likely to be a long line of patches for the game. Hotfix 1.06 is out now for consoles and PC, and brings about some key fixes.

Most importantly, the 8 MB save file size limit that was corrupting save files in the game’s PC version has been removed. It’s worth mentioning that this doesn’t apply to files that already got corrupted- so those saves are lost forever, as CDPR had warned earlier.

Meanwhile, improved stability and fewer crashes are also mentioned for consoles, which is something that PS4 and PS5 players in particular will be really glad about. The previous update claimed to bring about similar fixes, though the crashes remained problematic in its wake, so let’s hope this hotfix is more successful on that front. You can check out the full patch notes below.

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia. CD Projekt RED recently announced that the game has sold over 13 million copies since launch (even accounting for all the refunds).

PATCH NOTES:

Quests

  • Dum Dum will no longer go missing from Totentanz entrance during Second Conflict.

Console-specific

  • Improved memory management and stability, resulting in fewer crashes.

PC-specific

  • Removed the 8 MB save file size limit. Note: this won’t fix save files corrupted before the update.
