Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Adds Pocket Radio to the Game | Game Rant

While Cyberpunk 2077 is still marred by technical issues, there are plenty of good qualities about the game that players have taken note of. From the aesthetic to the variance in gameplay mechanics and methods of approach, Cyberpunk 2077 has a lot to offer its player base. Although, a positive feature that has been brought up by fans is the music featured in Cyberpunk 2077.

The sheer number of vehicles featured in Cyberpunk 2077 can be overwhelming at times, but a commonality that each of the vehicles share is access to a radio. The music featured in the game separate from the original soundtrack is quite addictive and a lot of people have mentioned it as being a positive feature of the game. The problem is players can only listen to the music while in a vehicle. Luckily, a member of the modding community saw it as a unique opportunity for a new gameplay mod.

A YouTuber by the name of chombatatra created a mod that allows players to listen to radio music while exploring Night City on foot. This is certainly a nice touch for users who wish to listen to music during active gameplay and not just while driving a car or motorcycle. It's almost surprising that this isn't featured in the game in a more official capacity.

While Cyberpunk 2077 is known for having an extensive library of music for players to listen to while in a vehicle, it's not the first game to include that type of feature. The Grand Theft Auto series is famously known for having addictive music to listen to while in a vehicle, but if this mod is any indication, it's clear that players want to listen to the music that's played exclusively in cars practically anywhere during active gameplay.

Some games have even included a pocket radio feature similar to chombatatra's mod. Take for example Death Stranding, which lets players listen to music while doing tasks and activities in the game's open world. Then again, it makes sense for a game like Death Stranding to include something like that, considering how the gameplay can be very monotonous at times.

It will be interesting to see if CD Projekt Red adds an actual pocket radio feature sometime down the road. Often times, if enough players ask for a feature to be included in any given game, the development studio might put it in the game. Though, CD Projekt Red will likely be preoccupied with addressing all of the bugs and glitches that still plague Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions scheduled to release in 2021.
