Cyberpunk And Half-Life Content Coming To Death Stranding PS5

The Half-Life and Cyberpunk 2077 content that was previously exclusive to the PC release of Death Stranding will be included as part of the upcoming Director's Cut.

This piece of Death Stranding news was part of the recent PlayStation Blog post regarding some of the additions and inclusions coming to the Director's Cut. It was overshadowed by the announcement of ultrawide support and save transfers, but is arguably one of the more interesting inclusions in the PS5 release of Death Stranding.

On the PlayStation Blog, Jay Boor said, "Although I can’t really go into too much detail about the new missions and extended storyline at this point, what I can share is that a few hints have been added to the latest trailer we’ve released that give a few clues as to what you can expect – we’ll have more to share on that in the weeks to come – though I can confirm now that all the Half-Life and Cyberpunk 2077 content introduced to the PC version of Death Stranding will also be available in Death Stranding Director’s Cut."

The inclusion of these two pieces of content is especially interesting considering they were previously touted as exclusive to the PC release of the game. Fans who wanted the extras in the PS4 version were out of luck, so when the Director's Cut was announced there was really no reason to believe they would be added.

Both crossovers raise a bit of an eyebrow at their inclusion in the PS5 exclusive release of Death Stranding. Half-Life hasn't appeared on a PlayStation console since The Orange Box, whilst Cyberpunk 2077 has been hugely controversial on PlayStation and was infamously delisted from the PlayStation Store when it first launched.

The items in question include gravity gloves inspired by Half-Life Alyx, companion cubes to colect, Gordon Freeman's glasses, and a wearable Headcrab as some of the Half-Life content. Meanwhile, the Cyberpunk 2077 content includes Johnny Silverhand's glasses, a themed reverse trike, and a robotic arm that lets the player hack items in the environment.
