DC Dual Force has been announced by Cryptozoic Entertainment, YUKE’s, and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment, with the game set to be released in Q3 2022. DC Dual Force is a free to play digital collectible card game in which players will be able to collect cards of DC heroes and villains. As part of the game players will be able to create decks where the synergies of the DC characters can lead to powerful dual combos, that could help turn the tide of a battle.
“We feel incredibly privileged to have such unique access to the DC Universe,” said Cory Jones, co-founder of Cryptozoic Entertainment. “As game makers and lifelong comics fans, this is really a dream come true. We are determined to deliver the definitive card game based on comic books.”
“We are honored to have an incredible partnership with Cryptozoic and cannot wait to see the DC Universe come to life as a digital collectible card game,” said Yukinori Taniguchi, President and CEO of YUKE’s.
DC Dual Force will draw on the company’s comic history spanning the last 80 years. Each week, new content based on a comic from DC’s library will be released providing fresh, single player content. It seems some of the most prominent characters will be available at launch of DC Dual Force, and the aim is to eventually release all Super Heroes and Super Villains. That could mean that even some of the most obscure characters from DC’s history could make an appearance. As players play, rewards will be earned but there are no details on what those rewards would be. It could be additional cards for decks or something like an in game currency that can be used in a store. DC Dual Force also does not have any confirmed platforms as of yet, though mobile and PC are most likely at launch.
