For the loss of the Hawkins National Laboratory map, players can get blood points to make up for what they had previously
While it is disappointing that Stranger Things will be leaving the Dead by Daylight experience, it is not a surprise. Behavior Interactive has tried to ensure that there has been plenty of word of the franchise being discontinued, offering discounted prices on Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, and The Demogorgon at half price as well as various cosmetic features since August of this year. There’s no problem when it comes to finding or buying the Stranger Things items in the Dead by Daylight’s store; the problem lies in losing the Stranger Things map. While the location of the Hawkins National Laboratory is on heavy rotation from November 12 to November 15, offerings that had been disabled due to performance issues, and have now been completely taken from player inventories.
This is upsetting for players, as they did not know that this would occur, nor about the offer for compensation in blood points afterward with the condition that they had Hawkins National Laboratory ID offerings. Some players pointed out that if they had known about this prior to any action, they would have been able to make the choice on their own on whether they amassed offerings or simply spent them in their Blood Web soon after. This is important, as this is one of the ways that players can improve their character choices, whether it is with a survivor, or with a killer, which can make a difference between winning and losing. Still, at least Behavior Interactive is trying to make up for what they had to do, and some players will at least be compensated for what they had previously lost.
The Stranger Things franchise has been part of Dead by Daylight since 2019. While they will no longer be for sale by November 17th, at least players will be able to keep what they have previously bought. And too, for those who are looking forward to more Stranger Things content, there may be more of the Netflix show in the future. There is for sure going to be more coming from Dead By Daylight, which should be seen this month.
Dead by Daylight is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
