Dead By Daylight’s Hellraiser Update Unchains Pinhead Today

It is time to raise a little Hell in Dead by Daylight. Today, the game’s Hellraiser update finally introduces the long-teased Pinhead to the Fog, and he is looking to tear some Survivors apart. Along with Pinhead, the Hellraiser update also offers a new Legendary Set that lets players embody the Chatterer, Pinhead’s most loyal servant.

Introducing Pinhead to the game was a no-brainer for Game Director Mathieu Cote who cites the Hell Priest as one of his personal favorite horror characters; “Pinhead has one of the most recognizable faces of all the horror classics. Even people who have never seen the movies know that uniquely intense look. So, as the Hall of Fame of Horror, we had to have him in our game”.

Just like every other Killer introduced in Dead by Daylight, Pinhead brings with him his own distinctive powers. Pinhead’s Summons of Pain is an extradimensional gateway that summons a possessed chain that can bind Survivors. Once bound, Survivors cannot sprint and their overall movement speed is decreased. Not something you really want to happen when trying to escape the Cenobite Hell Priest.

Along with the Summons of Pain, Pinhead also brings an additional challenge to Survivors: The Lament Configuration puzzle box. If the box is left alone, it will initiate a Chain Hunt which, as the name suggests, summons chains to hunt Survivors. However, if a player picks up the puzzle box, they are automatically afflicted with the Oblivious status effect and chains will be summoned intermittently to attack them. To end the Chain Hunt, players must solve the Lament Configuration. However, while attempting to do so, Pinhead can see the player’s location and easily teleport there.

Not only does this update bring everyone's favorite leather-clad demon daddy, but it also offers the Hellraiser Collection. This collection offers a Legendary Set that will allow players to embody the Chatterer, Pinhead’s devoted servant. This creature is complete with a disfigured face, peeled-back lips that expose chattering teeth, and a Suit of Sufferance that displays his rites of extreme scarification. The Chatterer’s weapon of choice is the Dented Hook and Chain, which completes his frightening visage. This Legendary Set will run 1,485 Auric Cells in the in-game store. The Hellraiser Collection also includes a very rare outfit for Pinhead called The Hell Priest and it costs 720 in-game Auric Cells.

The Hellraiser Chapter of Dead by Daylight is available now for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S and will set you back $4.99.
