Next-Gen Console Gamers Can Experience an Improved Dead Space

Dead Space, the original entry in the horror Electronic Arts franchise, is officially going to get a remake. The upcoming new Dead Space was first announced at EA’s Play Live 2021 event that was held on July 22nd. Coined as a “remake,” it will reportedly be more than just a simple remastering of the game as it will be given new features. The new Dead Space will be featuring new technology that will make it playable on today’s next-gen consoles.

Developed by Motive, a game developer studio under the EA umbrella, the space-themed survival horror game made a huge impact in its genre when it was first released to the gaming community 12 years ago. Motive Senior Producer Phillippe Ducharme told the media that this remastering of the game is their “love letter to the franchise.” “I came to Motive as a fan first to specifically work on this game,” he said. “Going back to the original and having the opportunity to do so on next-gen consoles excited everyone on the team.”

In the upcoming Dead Space remake, players will be getting an improved gameplay experience as they work hard to survive while aboard a desolate mining starship, the USG Ishimura. Apart from having to survive until the end of the game, Dead Space players will also have to solve the mystery of what happened to the crew who were brutally slaughtered. Playing as Isaac Clarke, the game’s protagonist, players will have to use certain tools and the character’s engineering skillset as they try to find Nicole—Isaac’s beloved—who is lost somewhere within the ship.

In this remake, Dead Space fans will be given a highly immersive and a much more terrifying gameplay experience without having to deviate much from the legacy that was left when the game was first released.
