Deathloop Has Officially Gone Gold

It's official – Deathloop has gone gold and will be arriving on September 14. The game was subject to a few delays in order to prevent crunch, although now its release date is finally carved in stone.

Going gold is a huge milestone in the gaming industry. If you're unfamiliar with the term, it simply means the game is completed and has the green light for launch on its respective consoles. It's a huge deal – and it's great to see Deathloop celebrating the occasion.

"Deathloop has gone gold," reads the announcement on Twitter. "Get ready to break the timeloop on September 14!" The brief post was accompanied by an image of Deathloop NPCs marking the occasion with a bit of drinking, dancing, and jammin' on the guitar – seems like a fair way to celebrate.

Last month, Arkane gave us our first extended walkthrough of Deathloop, showing off nine minutes of gameplay with narration from game director Dinga Bakaba. The lengthy trailer showed off some of the abilities and weapons you'll be able to get your hands on next month, along with more details on how its timeloop mechanic will function.

Coming from the same studio behind Prey and Dishonored, hopes are high Deathloop is another hit. And – based on what we've seen so far – that seems to be the case.

Deathloop has officially gone gold and will arrive on PC and PS5 on September 14. Its timed exclusivity ends on September 2022, and an Xbox Series X|S will likely follow shortly after.
