Aniplex have revealed more gameplay for 3D tag battle action game Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan.

As previously reported, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba takes place in a historical fantasy version of Taisho-era Japan. Tanjiro Kamado is the child of charcoal sellers, and is out selling his families wares when they are attacked by demons.

By the time he returns home, his parents are dead and his sister has been corrupted. In order to save his sister and defeat the demon that killed his parents, Tanjiro gets himself recruited by the demon slayer Giyu Tomioka.

While the first gameplay appeared back in March 2020, new gameplay has been revealed and uploaded by third parties onto YouTube. DualShockers reports the gameplay was broadcast during the Kimetsu Matsuri Online Anime 2nd Anniversary Festival program on streaming service Abema TV.

Additional gameplay footage was uploaded to Aniplex’ Japanese YouTube account; which is region locked, and has also been re-uploaded by third parties. This focuses on the gameplay of Tanjiro and Nezuko.

Players pick two characters to take part in 1v1 tag battles in 3D arenas. This may seem familiar based on developer CyberConnect 2’s previous works (Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy).

DualShockers also reported that in a press release they obtained, the game would include a single-player story mode covering events from the manga and anime, and versus mode.

You can find the gameplay videos below.

Finally, a development report video was also uploaded to the Japanese Aniplex YouTube channel. However, it features more of a behind the look of the game’s graphics and animation, with no narration. You can find that below.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan launches 2021 in Japan for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
