Season 15 now has a name. Season of the Lost will arrive next Tuesday, August 24, along with Bungie’s Destiny 2 Showcase. This showcase will discuss the future of Destiny as well as the upcoming Witch Queen expansion, which may very well tie into the upcoming season, according to a massive leak.
We actually got a preview of Season of the Lost somewhat early after an advertisement on Razer’s rewards page accidentally went live last night. Reddit user MasterOfReaIity posted this image of a Destiny 2 advertisement last night confirming Season 15’s name a full 11 hours before the official Destiny Twitter account confirmed the title.
In both the advertisement and Bungie’s official tweet we see that Mara Sov, Queen of the Awoken, will return in Season of the Lost. Mara Sov has been gone since the original Destiny, with nobody knowing where she was or what she was doing. Certainly, her return in Season of the Lost will come with some sort of explanation, but it might also bring forth a final cleansing to the curse of the Dreaming City.

Ever since the Forsaken expansion, the Dreaming City has been cursed to repeat the same three weeks over and over again. None of the player’s efforts since then has solved the curse, but Season of the Lost might bring the Dreaming City’s story to its conclusion.
That's according to a leak that has been circulating on Destiny 2 subreddits for some time. Called the "Pastebin leak," it contains paragraphs of information detailing Season of the Lost, The Witch Queen, and beyond. Some parts of it have already been confirmed, some yet to arrive, and others have turned out to be false, but it seems to be correct about Season 15's name at the very least.
Be warned, the leak contains heavy story spoilers for the foreseeable future of Destiny 2, so don’t read it if you want to be surprised.
Season of the Lost arrives on Tuesday, August 24, alongside Bungie’s Destiny 2 Showcase.
