Destiny 2 Season Of The Lost: All Week 3 Seasonal Challenges

Quick Links

With another Destiny weekly reset comes a new set of Seasonal Challenges for Guardians to tackle. These unique Triumphs are the definitive way of earning XP, Bright Dust, and seasonal progression. This week, players will need to defeat Taken in Astral Alignment, defeat Guardians with Scorch Cannons, and give Eris a visit to complete various challenges.

Most of these challenges are fairly easy to do, none of which require you to hunt down secrets in the Shattered Realm. However, you will have to bring your Champion-slaying gear to Nightfalls if you want to finish one of this week's challenges. Let's go over all ten challenges this week, how to complete them, and the rewards you can expect. Remember: completing 75 of these challenges will grant an additional 4,000 Bright Dust.

Wayfinder's Voyage III

destiny-2-wayfinders-compass-featured-9690453

Wayfinder's Voyage III: Use the Wayfinder's Compass to complete Wayfinder's Voyage III. Also, defeat Taken and Hive anywhere in the system. Stasis final blows will grant more progress.

Rewards

  • 50,000 XP
  • Wayfinder's Compass Calibration Level

Wayfinder's Voyage III is the third story-related quest in Season of the Lost. You'll need to complete the Wayfinder's Voyage quest from previous weeks to access this one. Complete this quest, then defeat 200 Taken or Hive to finish this challenge. Stasis kills will speed this up quite a bit, so consider using a Stasis subclass or the new Vulpecula Stasis Hand Cannon.

Some good locations for farming Hive or Taken kills are:

  • Shattered Throne: Farm the Thrall hallway encounter near the end of the dungeon. The Thrall section right after the rafters encounter is a good farming spot too.
  • Lake of Shadows: This strike is short and has quite a few Taken enemies.
  • The Disgraced: The second half of this strike is nothing but Hive.

Umbral Wayfinder III

destiny-2-umbral-engram-5564553

Umbral Wayfinder III: Focus Tier II or greater Umbral Engrams at the Prismatic Recaster in the H.E.L.M. Open Wayfinder's Troves in the Astral Alignment activity.

Rewards

  • 50,000 XP
  • Wayfinder's Compass Calibration Level

This challenge's Wayfinder's Trove objective is retroactive.

This challenge is split into two parts:

  1. Open 10 Wayfinder's Troves.
  2. Focus 3 T2 or T3 Umbral Engrams.

Wayfinder's Troves are the second chests that spawn at the end of Astral Alignment, requiring 150 Parallax Trajectory to open. You can reduce the opening cost to 100 Parallax Trajectory if you obtain certain Wayfinder Compass upgrades. T2 Umbral focusing costs 450 Parallax a pop, meaning you'll need 1,350 to get that part of the objective done. Thankfully, any Wayfinder's Troves you've opened during previous weeks will retroactively count.

Initiate Ley Liner: Complete rounds of Astral Alignment and defeat Taken with the Taken Relic.

Rewards

  • 50,000 XP
  • Wayfinder's Compass Calibration Level

Taken are present in this week's Astral Alignment variant. For this challenge, you'll need to obtain the Taken Relic that spawns from slain Taken Captains to defeat 100 Taken enemies. This will most likely take you a few Astral Alignment runs to complete, so don't stress too much about this challenge. You'll need to open ten Troves for Umbral Wayfinder III anyhow. Focus on the chests before you start to worry about completing this.

Astral Telemetry I

destiny-2-debris-of-dreams-ascendant-anchor-5-2829552

Astral Telemetry I: Gather Parallax Trajectories from playlist of Astral Alignment activities, or from Ascendant Anchors found in destinations and in the Shattered Realm activity.

Rewards

  • 25,000 XP

This challenge is retroactive.

Astral Telemetry requires 4,500 Parallax Trajectory. That might seem quite high on the surface, but Parallax Trajectory is extremely easy to come by. Virtually every activity in Destiny 2 gives around 100 Parallax Trajectory when completed. You can quite easily speedrun strikes or complete Crucible games to reach 4,500. Just remember to spend your Trajectories once you reach your inventory cap—which was thankfully doubled from its launch cap of 1,500.

Sacred Scorcher

destiny-2-crucible-titan-6615816

Sacred Scorcher: Defeat Guardians in Team Scorched. Earn bonus progress for charged detonations.

Rewards

  • 50,000 XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

Team Scorched is a weekly rotating Crucible playlist that's effectively 6v6 Clash with Scorch Cannons. Sacred Scorcher required 50 kills, charged detonations granting additional progress.

Scorch Cannons behave similarly to Special Grenade Launchers, capable of detonating mid-air if you release the trigger. If you hold onto the trigger as the projectile hits a surface, the rocket will stick instead and grow more powerful. Release the trigger when the rocket is charged to release a massive explosion that'll one-shot any Guardian nearby. Keep in mind that you can also rocket jump with Scorch Cannons to build some serious momentum or avoid incoming projectiles.

Primeval Entourage

destiny-2-gambit-taken-ogre-4304284

Primeval Entourage: Defeat Taken in Gambit. Earn bonus progress for defeating tougher combatants.

Rewards

  • 50,000 XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

Gambit reserves the Taken faction for Blockers and the Primeval phase. You'll need to kill 100 Taken for this challenge, although virtually every enemy will count for more than one kill. Blockers, Envoys, and the Primeval count for significantly more kills.

Damaging the Primeval also seems to grant progress, so focus on damaging the Primeval the second you get the first two Envoys down. If you can summon the Primeval every game, you can finish this challenge by the time you complete the Gambit playlist weekly challenge.

Light Moon Rising

destiny-2-moon-gear-8265028

Light Moon Rising: On the Moon, earn progress by completing bounties, patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors.

Rewards

  • 50,000 XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

Name a more iconic duo than Moon bounties and Lost Sectors. In all seriousness, the best way of completing this challenge is to purchase as many Eris bounties as possible before clearing a Lost Sector. Each Lost Sector clear will grant 20% progress, and a full batch of bounties will grant a massive chunk of progress and XP. You should only need to repeat this a couple of times to finish the challenge. This is also the fastest XP farm in Destiny 2 once you've completed every Seasonal Challenge and weekly challenge.

Challenger's Apogee

destiny-2-wayfinders-compass-artifact-5368679

Challenger's Apogee: Reach Power Level 1,320 by earning powerful rewards and Prime Engrams.

Rewards

  • 50,000 XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

This challenge is retroactive.

1,320 is Season of the Lost's hard cap for Power level. You can reach this level by completing weekly challenges on your Director and by gaining XP for your Artifact. Your Artifact Power does count for this challenge, so your gear doesn't have to be quite at 1,320 to finish this challenge. For tips on leveling and more, consult our Power Leveling guide.

Long-Range Calibration

destiny-2-ticuus-divination-exotic-bow-2745736

Long-Range Calibration: Calibrate long-range weapons—Pulse Rifles, Bows, and Trace Rifles—on the Moon. Bonus progress in Lost Sectors.

Rewards

  • 50,000 XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

Defeating 100 combatants on the Moon is trivial considering how enemy-rich each Lost Sector is. For this challenge, you'll want to swing by the K1 Revelation Lost Sector in Sorrow's Harbor. Prometheus Lens, Ticuu's Divination, and virtually any Pulse Rifle will get this challenge done with no issues. It should only take a few minutes to finish this challenge.

Ultimate Champion

destiny-2-champion-2593777

Ultimate Champion: Defeat Champions in any Nightfall strike on Hero difficulty or higher. Earn bonus progress at higher difficulty tiers.

Rewards

  • 50,000 XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

Ultimate Champion requires 60 Champion kills in Nightfalls on Hero or higher difficulty. Hero does have matchmaking enabled, giving solo players an avenue of finishing this challenge. However, if you're a somewhat more hardcore player, considering getting a fireteam together to tackle Master. You'll only need a few Master clears to finish this challenge. Grandmaster Nightfalls are also a great option once they become available later this season.
