It has been a strange journey leading up to the reveal of Destiny 2's Season 15 and what it entails, as there were major leaks from a few months ago and now oversight from a third-party site that showed an ad for the new Season ahead of time. Despite all this, Destiny 2's Season of the Lost is going to see a familiar face return to the Dreaming City, as the events will most likely revolve around Queen Mara Sov and give closure regarding the curse that her city has been trapped in for almost three years now. There are several reasons why it makes sense for Bungie to explore the Dreaming City again in Season 15, one being the upcoming third anniversary of Forsaken, and another being that the Last Wish Raid's 15th Wish was never released up to now.
Furthermore, the narrative for Destiny 2's Season of the Splicer took players to a fight against Quria, the Dreaming Mind – a Vex Taken Mind who served Savathun and is responsible for the Dreaming City's looped curse. With Quria's demise and the epilogue of the Season of the Splicer addressing leaks and fan theories regarding Osiris possibly being Savathun herself, now is indeed the perfect time to revisit the city created by Mara Sov and terraformed by the Awoken. Furthermore, in the Season of Arrivals, Mara Sov did broadcast a message that reached Zavala's office. Here, she said that she did all she could to stop the Black Fleet of the Darkness and that she would return to the Dreaming City at some point, even though Savathun would be waiting for her.

What Destiny 2's Season of the Lost Might Entail
The notepad leak from months ago was already credible when Bungie announced the Season of the Splicer, but the document also stated that Season 15 would be called Season of the Lost and be set in the Dreaming City, which is now confirmed to be the case. As such, that entire document bears a lot of legitimacy in what it states, aseverything that's included in there has been proven right up to this point. However, this also makes the case for Bungie to be more strict in the way it treats possible leaks and even prevents them, as many players ended up having the narrative spoiled for them against their will.
Another very significant detail came in the message that Destiny 2 players got today when they logged into the game after reset, and that's where Bungie announced that next week the Nightfall will have the Fanatic as its boss. This might seem like trivial information, but taking a closer look at The Hollowed Lair Strike for the Fanatic, it contains only Scorn enemies and no other factions, essentially confirming that the Scorn will finally get Champions. It's very plausible that these Champions will be an Overload and an Unstoppable Champion, considering both the pool of seasonal anti-Champion mods and the fact that it would bring the balance to 4 Champion per type across all races.
As for what the Season of the Lost might entail, it's not far-fetched to think that it will further explore Osiris' story, while also giving Crow some room to find out more about his origins and Uldren Sov's long-lost twin sister. Still, the leaks being confirmed is a huge thing, and it means that the other alleged leaks from not long ago could be true as well. Ultimately, though, it's always best to take them with a grain of salt, as things can change and Bungie might end up straying from its plans.
