Diablo 2: Resurrected Trailer Details Necromancer Class

Last month, fans got their first taste of the updated version of Diablo 2 in the well recieved beta version of the game. The once PC exclusive is now coming to numerous platforms completely remastered for modern technology with updates to the game's visuals, network functions, reworked cinematics, as well as smaller convenience and quality of life updates. Even with all of the new, Diablo 2 Resurrected features the tried and true gameplay fans have come to know and love

With a release date rapidly approaching in just a few weeks, developer Vicarious Visions has been releasing new promotional material detailing the various classes players can choose from at the start of the game. Considering this is a remaster of a classic PC title from 2000, longtime fans may already be familiar with many of them, including the melee specialist Barbarian, the magic wielding sorceress, the dexterious Amazon, elemental shapeshifting Druid, or the crusading Paladin. This week, the latest class to be expanded upon is the Necromancer.

In a new trailer for Diablo 2: Resurrected, players get a chance to see the Necromancer in action thanks to gameplay showing off the various skills and abilities that comes with the class. The trailer opens with the Necromancer's Poison and Bone skill tree with abilities like Bone Armor, Bone Wall, Poison Nova, Bone Spirit, and Corpse Explosion. A few curses are also shown off alongside including Iron Maiden, a skill that returns damage to enemies that hit the Necromancer.

However, the Necromancer class in the Diablo series is mostly associated with pets, being able to summon a wide variety of minions from skeleton warrors, mages, and the powerful Golems. While many of them were not shown in the very short trailer, the Fire Golem was featured numerous times, revealing an impressive new visual overhaul complete with fire effects and massive shape. Towards the end of the trailer, the FIre Golem is going head to head with the Act 2 boss, Duriel.

Thanks to the beta and the feedback given, Vicarious Visions is continuing to work on improving the game. While the popular personal loot option, essentially dropping gear and items that only the player can see, won't be in the game at launch, executive producer Rod Fergusson admitted that personal loot could come in a later update. One thing that isn't planned to be addressed is a bug the community has been calling Next Hit Always Misses. When a player's interruption animation is triggered, the next melee hit always misses, something which was in the original game and Blizzard is hesitant to fix out of nostalgia.

Diablo 2: Resurrected launches September 23 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
