During the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2021 Pre-Show, Koch Media debuted a new trailer for its sci-fi Souls-like title Dolmen. Briefly covering the story for this dark, eerie adventure, this trailer certainly doesn't explain how this game will work. Most of what I know about Dolmen is from a cursory Google search just before writing this.
We previously covered the announcement of Dolmen in June and it seems like things are progressing nicely for developer Massive Work Studio. There are most definitely some Dead Space vibes here, not to mention the obvious inspiration from the Alien franchise. I'm not sure how the Souls-like mechanics will work, but this could create an interesting parallel to The Surge for a sci-fi RPG title.

The world of Dolmen takes place on an alien planet called Revion Prime. As an unnamed protagonist, you're tasked with retrieving samples of a strange crystal with unique powers. These crystals will allow you to interact with different realities, which is what causes the central conflict of Dolmen's combat. Think Half-Life's resonance cascade, just with a more futuristic hook.
At the moment, Dolmen is planned for a 2022 release on PC (via Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. I would imagine there is some kind of free next-gen upgrade available, as has become the norm with cross-generation titles, but we don't have confirmation of that. At the very least, anyone with a game console from the last decade should be able to play this without issue.
