Bethesda have announced Doom Eternal and The Elder Scrolls Online will both be coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, with free upgrades from the current generation for both.

Those who purchased either game on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will be able to “upgrade” for free to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X respectively. Bethesda states their teams “are working hard to ensure both titles will support backwards compatibility when the new consoles launch.”

The release dates for both titles on those platforms will be revealed “in the coming weeks and months” including other information.

Bethesda also stated “while we don’t have any news to share just yet on our remaining catalogue of titles, we can confirm we are committed to offer free upgrades for current generation console owners of existing Bethesda titles we bring forward into the next generation of consoles.”

While Microsoft announced their Smart Delivery upgrade system first, Sony have appeared to be matching Microsoft with upgrading major titles. Previously Sony had stated “the overwhelming majority of the 4,000+ PS4 titles will be playable” on the PlayStation 5.

Doom Eternal is available on Windows PC (via Bethesda, and Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, 2020 for Nintendo Switch, and coming soon to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we recommend it!)
