Doom Eternal Patch Fixes BFG Crashing Issues On PC | Game Rant

Doom Eternal Bfg

Doom Eternal is an ambitious game, on both a visual and technical scale. With incredibly crisp and fluid animation, a cacophony of different enemy types, and environments that vary wildly in terms of visual design, the work that the developers have put into making Doom Eternal what it is today is quite impressive. Although, like with any other technically ambitious game, issues can occasionally arise.

Each version of Doom Eternal performs slightly differently from each other and a lot of bugs players run into usually only pertain to specific versions of the game. For instance, PC players have been encountering difficulties with the BFG during active gameplay. Now, it seems that Bethesda has come up with a solution.

As part of the most recent 2021 update for Doom Eternal, Bethesda has now fixed the issue with the BFG that has been plaguing PC players for quite some time now. This was in large part due to the community submitted crash logs that the developers looked over and subsequently identified in-game. With any luck, the issue with the BFG will no longer persist for players using the PC version of the game.

It's nice to know that Bethesda has continued to patch Doom Eternal a full two years after the game's initial release. In addition to the BFG issue on PC, the developers also fixed an issue with the PS5 version of the game where a rare crash would occur to a bad UI state. In any case, it's reassuring to know that Bethesda continues to remain reactive in terms of the games currently in circulation.

However, there are a lot of Bethesda games currently in development that many in the gaming community have been actively looking forward to. Games like Deathloop, Starfield, and The Elder Scrolls 6 are all confirmed to be in development, with Deathloop releasing later this year. It will be interesting to see how Bethesda will be able to manage between all of these high-priority titles, especially Xbox's recent acquisition of the studio.

As for Doom Eternal, there might potentially be more in store for the game in the coming years. A few months ago, Bethesda released cosmetic DLC for Doom Eternal, allowing players to customize the Doom Slayer in various different outfits. Though, it's unclear as to whether or not Doom Eternal will see another DLC campaign like with The Ancient Gods. All fans can really do right now in that regard is speculate.

Doom Eternal is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
