DrLupo Set For Life After Signing Exclusive Deal With YouTube

A big deal just got signed in the world of streaming. Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo, pro gamer and of the top streamers on Twitch since 2015, has made the jump to YouTube after signing an exclusive deal with Google's video platform.

“YouTube not only allows me to continue creating content and growing my community, but through this partnership, YouTube will help me as I expand my brand through other entertainment initiatives," said DrLupo in a prepared statement. "I am excited to bring my fans on this journey with me.”

DrLupo has 1.7 million subscribers on YouTube, but just under 4.5 million subscribers on Twitch where he's been streaming since 2015, first starting with Destiny before moving on to battle royale titles like H1Z1 and Fortnite. In recent years he's made the swap to Escape from Tarkov and the more family-friendly titles Fall Guys and Among Us. He's partnered with the biggest names in the streaming world on various projects and even played alongside senator Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in her famous Among Us livestream.

Ever since last year, DrLupo has joined other Twitch streamers in donating all his tips to charity. DrLupo chose St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital as his worthy cause, while viewers get entered into monthly prize giveaways for their donations.

Although YouTube is a giant in the streaming world, much bigger than Microsoft's now-defunct Mixer, limiting one's audience typically doesn't result in a pay raise. That won't be the case with DrLupo, who revealed to The Washington Post that he's "secure for life" after signing this exclusive deal.

“Everybody’s just trying to secure the bag, right? There’s no shame in that. That’s literally why everybody gets up and goes to work, right? So of course, the financial situation that YouTube presented me without a doubt is like, you know, I’m secure for life,” DrLupo said. “Everybody’s trying to get to that point. Why would I say no to that?”

DrLupo’s inaugural YouTube livestream will begin tomorrow, with future content to be spread between livestreams, behind-the-scenes vi-docs, and more produced content.
