Dying Light 2 has been rated by ESRB following leaks about a release date. This rating might have just confirmed that the game will be Cross-Gen.
This rating states, “This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of a survivor (Aiden Caldwell) in a post-apocalyptic city overrun by zombies. As players traverse the open-world environment, they interact with characters, complete mission objectives, and engage in melee-style combat against human survivors and zombies.”
This game will also feature Microtransactions according to the ESRB Rating which mentions “In-Game Purchases”

I think we will receive more information about this today later at the Dying Light live stream
We recently received an email related to Dying Light 2 today which stated
“Survivor,
Remember Harran? Who could forget…
But The City is our refuge now, and it needs your help.
There’s so much for you to know and so little time, but these clues can’t fall into the wrong hands.
Find somewhere safe and play this message. You’re our last chance for survival.
Above all…”
Stay Human.

Recently a Platinum Edition for Dying Light was listed on the Microsoft Store. This platinum edition is said to contain “all four major DLCs and seventeen skin bundles” the description states, “explore new quarantine zones, and enjoy plenty of new skins and weapons!” So they might have added some new stuff as well. The release date for Dying Light Platinum Edition is listed as 27th May.
There is supposed to be a Dying Light event on 27th May as well, so they might just announce the Platinum edition there along with all the advantages of it.
Let’s talk about Dying Light 2 now. Dying Light 2 has recently been trademarked by Marchewka Holder, who has previously trademarked the word “Dying Light”. It seems like Dying Light 2’s full name is Dying Light 2: Stay Human because of this new trademark.
Dying Light 2’s Lead Writer Pawel Selinger left the company a while ago as well, and he posted on Linkedin, “After over twenty-two years, I decided to end my cooperation with Techland. I want to express my gratitude to the company that has allowed me to develop and fulfil myself for half of my life. Techland, I will always be rooting for you, as well as the great people I have met, thanks to you. I wish you that Dying light 2 and subsequent projects will become world hits. Goodbye, and good luck!”

Dying Light 2’s last development Update was in March 2021, where the developers stated that they wanted to make a game that people would play for months, and they did not want to rush that. Covid 19 has caused many problems for the Studio, and the developers will give you more updates later this year about Dying Light 2: Stay Human. Hopefully, we get to see some gameplay or something at this year’s E3 or the event taking place on 27th May.
