Dying Light 2: Stay Human Developer Diary Dying 2 Know Episode 3 Premieres August 26 at Gamescom

Techland have announced the next Dying 2 Know developer episode for Dying Light 2: Stay Human will premiere at Gamescom 2021.

Dying 2 Know Episode 3 will premiere August 26th at 11:00 a.m. PT (8:00 p.m. CEST) via Gamescom. It will be hosted by lead game designer Tymon Smektała

As previously reported, the game is set 15 years after the events of the first game, and humanity has managed to eek out survival from a zombie-creating virus. This “modern dark age” has created an almost medieval settlement and the even more savage lands beyond are rife with bandits, the starving, and violence. By night; the zombies command the land.

Playing as infected survivor Aiden Caldwell, use your enhanced physique to roam around the city, and tackle your foes any way you wish. Make choices that may determine the fate of the city, and delve deep into infected territory for the medicine to stay human. The game also supports up to four players in co-op, allowing you to see how other players shaped their city.

Prior Dying 2 Know episodes [1, 2] provided an overview of the game, gameplay and interviews with the developers. As stated in the press release (via email) the next episode will focus on the game’s combat, parkour, and factions mechanics, a new gameplay trailer, and more.

Parkour is stated as a key element of the game, boating “an advanced, realistic movement system that allows mixing complex parkour moves into combat.” Combat itself will also involve hand-to-hand combat, along with an “impressive arsenal of deadly tools.” However, combat against the infected and against humans necessitate different approaches.

Techland will also reveal details for Techland GG (Gamers and Goodies); a community hub for all Techland titles (starting with Dying Light 2: Stay Human and its predecessor), and the upcoming UGC cosplay contest.
